What Makes Good Mental Health?

Generally speaking, someone who is "mentally healthy" will be able to use their talents, abilities, and energies effectively and productively. S/he enjoys challenges and takes pleasure in accomplishing things. S/he is capable of sustaining a meaningful love relationship that is characterized by genuine caring and intimacy. S/he finds meaning in belonging and contributing to a larger community (e.g., organization, church, neighborhood, etc.).
